Vitacost Site Mini Spree

Every day is a battle between my hair and me. You see, I have naturally curly hair predisposed to being a pain in the ass, aka being very dry, dull and prone to dread-locking. Sure, I didn't help the situation by having it dyed blonde, but I wasn't about to be stuck with a boring colour AND hair that felt like straw. (To be honest I can't remember how it felt like before I started to dye it.)
After my amazing holiday in Greece, where I was in the water almost 24/7 for 10 days straight, my hair just became unmanageable. I have been struggling with it for the last 3 months, but it has just been so dry, the ends have been snapping off left, right and centre, and it becomes so tangled and dreadlocked within such a short time frame, it's scared me enough into buying a few more things to add to hair products collection.

Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and Vitacost Ultra Hair Formula

I have read a lot of good things about coconut oil, and since my hair is really lacking moisture everything, I decided I'd give it a go. Even if it doesn't help, I can use the coconut oil as a skin moisturiser, or as a cooking oil, so the versatility of it, plus the good reviews, convinced me to purchase a tub of Nutiva Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil. Vitacost is a site I've recently discovered that sells all manners of vitamins and other healthcare products for decent prices and a very decent shipping price to Japan (yay for worldwide shipping!). I paid USD$8.78 for a 425g tub of the aforementioned coconut oil. I only cracked open the top a bit, but it smells very much like you've stuck your nose in a coconut, so I hope my hair smells as good when I've used it!

The second thing I bought was some vitamins that are supposed to help hair growth and vitality. Now, I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to taking supplements like this, and them actually helping much due to various reasons, but I'm so desperate for my hair to become at least manageable, and for it to keep growing!, I bought myself a bottle of the Vitacost Ultra Hair Formula with MSM & B Vitamins. I don't expect to see results within the 45 days, but I will definitely report any progress!

Last week I slept with some olive oil in my hair, and although it made my hair somewhat softer, it's still tangling really badly. I've been using a Schwarzkopf deep treatment for blonde hair as well, but the extent of the damage to my hair is so huge I think it'll take a lot of loving for it to get back to a somewhat normal state.

So how do you keep your lustrous curls soft and lustrous? Any recommendations on products or vitamins which have helped you? Let me know! :)
